The holidays are upon us and many of us scurrying to put together our holiday meal menus and searching for the perfect dishes to make our holiday special. But sometimes the classic dishes are the best dishes.
Sweet potato casseroles are the perfect side dish for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
But a good side dish starts with a good recipe. That’s why we’ve scoured the internet for the best sweet potato casserole recipe we could find. Lots of people will put marshmallows on top of their sweet potatoes casserole, but we think that’s kind of gross.
First of all, we want a side dish instead of a dessert and sweet potatoes are already sweet enough without the melted artificial sugary topping. Sweet potatoes naturally have six more times the sugar than regular potatoes do. I mean if we’re going to put marshmallows on our sweet potatoes we might as well put chocolate sprinkles in our salad.
So, you won’t find any marshmallows in our recipe. Our recipe is still sweet but is a more on the natural side. This combines the creamy smoothness of mashed sweet potatoes with the nutty sweetness of candied pecans. Here’s how you can make a delicious sweet potato casserole topped with candied pecans for your loved ones this holiday season.
