Here’s how to make a White Nougat Chocolate Nut Roll by Scrumdiddlyumptious.
Aspiring bakers and chefs, seasoned kitchen dwellers and for those of you who just enjoy food, you will love this recipe.
The best part is that we found another use for that empty plastic bottle!
You’re looking at a prep time of around 45 minutes plus 24 hours cooling times. Cooking time will be about 15 minutes. And it’s not that difficult so don’t worry.
Here’s what you’ll need:
For the white nougat roll:
- 1¾ cups cream cheese
- 11 oz white chocolate chips
- ½ cup coconut oil
- ¾ cup dried raspberries
- ¾ cup dried mango
- ¾ cup dried plums
- ⅓ cup pistachios
For the chocolate ganache:
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1¼ cups heavy cream
Extra:
- 1 plastic bottle
- wooden skewer
- crushed almonds, walnuts & pecans
You’ll have to cut off the top part of that plastic bottle as shown in the video. Careful and don’t cut yourself though!
Let’s begin!
1. Dump the cream cheese, white chocolate chips, and coconut oil in a double boiler.
Mix them together until you get that smooth consistency.
Once that’s done, let the mixture cool.
2. Take the plastic bottle and spoon the white nougat cream in to it.
You will have to tap it gently to distribute the cream evenly all throughout the bottle.
Refrigerate the bottle preferably overnight.
3. Cut open the bottle being careful to remove the set white nougat from the plastic.
Slowly insert a wooden skewer lengthwise into the nougat roll then refrigerate the whole piece again.
4. To make the chocolate ganache, heat the heavy cream then add the chocolate chips.
Mix both ingredients until smooth.
Gently roll the white nougat roll through the chocolate ganache and then through the crushed nuts.
Allow the chocolate to set then refrigerate the nougat roll once more if needed.
Don’t forget to remove the skewer before serving.
