Getting enough fruits and vegetables is an important part of a healthy diet. But sometimes its just so much easier to grab food that you don’t have to prepare before you eat it.

These 21 fruit and veggie hacks will make it super easy to peel and cut up your produce so that you can grab them and enjoy a healthy snack and get the most out of your fruit and veggies.

1) Oranges

Cut the ends off of an orange and slice it vertically. You’ll be able to open it right up and pull out the whole pieces neatly.

2) Avocado

Make vertical slices in your avocado and just pull the wedges out. You’ll be able to easily pop out the pit and slide the skin right off.

3) Mango Method 1

Vertically slice pieces of your mango off while avoiding the pit. Press your slices between the rim of a drinking glass to separate the skin from the fruit.

4) Mango Method 2

Score the top of your mango and peel away the skin like a banana.

5) Strawberry

Press a straw from the bottom of a strawberry through the top to remove the stems.

6) Kiwi

Cut the ends off of a kiwi and use a spoon to make a cut around the circumference of the kiwi between the fruit and the skin. Pop the fruit right out.

7) Banana

Peel your banana from the end without the long stem. You’ll get a cleaner cut banana this way.

8) Watermelon

Half a watermelon. Place one half facing downward and vertically slice the water melling into 1.5-inch slices. Then make the same size cuts horizontally. You’ll have long watermelon cubes that will be less sloppy to eat.

9) Asparagus

Slice the bottoms off of your asparagus with a knife while they are in a bunch rather than snapping them off by hand one by one.

10) Cherry Tomatoes

Place a bunch of cherry tomatoes between two flat surfaces, like Tupperware tops or the bottoms of plates. Run a knife in between the two surfaces where your tomatoes are. This will quickly, easily, and safely slice your cherry tomatoes.

11) Chopped Onion

Cut the ends off of your onion, then slice it down the middle. The onion skin will peel right off this way. Then make vertical slices into your onion and then horizontal slices from the bottom up. Make more vertical slices to chop your onion up into little pieces

12) Cauliflower

Pull away and green leaves and slice in half. Make a triangular cut to cut away the stem. And pull apart pieces of the flowery top by hand.

13) Jalapeno

Wrap your hand inside a plastic zip bags and place your knife in one as well. You can also use plastic gloves for your hands if you have them. Slice your jalapenos this way without burning your hands. Slice off the top, then longways three times. Run the knife along the inside of your slices to cut away the seeds.

14) Garlic

Bash the top of a piece of garlic against a hard surface. This will help the garlic easily open up. Put the garlic cloves in a piece of Tupperware and place the top on. Shake up the garlic inside the container well. The garlic should peel itself inside the container.

15) Pepper

Cut the top off of a pepper and scoop out the inside with your hand. Make a cut into your pepper and open it up. Cut your pepper into its four quadrants. Place all four quadrants on top of each other and slice them into long pieces.

16) Lettuce

Slice off the bottom of your long lettuce, then slice it long ways down the middle. Chop your lettuce horizontally. Now you have the perfect sized lettuce pieces for your salad.

17) Orange Candles

Slice an orange in half and use a spoon to carve out around the circumference of your fruit so that the fruit just slides out. Leave the center stem intact. Pour in vegetable oil and light the stem.

18) Peaches

Submerge a peach in hot water for 20 seconds. Then place it in ice water for 10 seconds. Apply some pressure with your thumbs to peel the peach skin right off.

19) Tomatoes

Score the bottom of your tomato and place it in hot water for 45 seconds. Put in an ice bath for 10 seconds. The skin will peel right off.

20) Potatoes

Boil for 15 minutes. Put in an ice water bath until its cool. Apply some light pressure with your finger and the skin will come right off.

21) Oranges Method 2

Cut around the center of your orange and use a spoon to help you remove your peel.
