I grew up on eating pizza pretzels from Wetzel’s Pretzels, so I was really excited when I found out how easy they were to make right at home. Pizza pretzels are a fun and delicious snack, and it’s healthier than having a slice of pizza.
This recipe is easy to follow and takes less than 5 minutes to make. Best part is, you can customize it with any of your favorite toppings!
Here are the main ingredients you’ll need:
- 1 pizza crust dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Pepperoni (optional)
Place your dough onto a clean surface and roll it out into the shape of a large rectangle (about 9 x 12 inches). Cut horizontally across twice so that you have 3 even strips of dough. Take one strip, and stretch it out horizontally to elongate the dough. Then, stretch the dough out diagonally so that the strip becomes thicker.
Sprinkle a cup of mozzarella cheese over the dough. Then, fold the dough together over the cheese. Repeat this process with the other 2 strips of dough.
Use some non-stick cooking spray over a sheet of aluminum foil. Lay out your strip of dough, and then make a twist with the two ends to form the shape of a pretzel. Sprinkle on some mozzarella cheese and pepperoni (optional). Bake it in the oven at 425F for 15 minutes.
Serve it with hot with your favorite dipping sauce. I like to use ranch, but marinara is also a great option! This is a delicious snack that everybody will enjoy.
