Cakes are absolutely delicious to eat. They’re soft and warm on the inside, and they completely satisfy your sweet tooth. The only problem with cakes is that they take a long time to bake and make.
Fortunately, there’s a simple way to make a chocolate lava cake, and you can do it in just minutes. Best of all, you can create a small portion just for you because you can make it in your own mug!
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
- 6 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 5 teaspoons sugar
- 3 teaspoons cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- salt
- 4 1/2 teaspoon melted butter (room temperature)
- 4 1/2 teaspoons milk
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 square dark chocolate
- 1 teaspoon strawberry jam
- 2 teaspoons water
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 1 grated square of dark chocolate
This recipe is for 2 cakes in 2 mugs. If you want to make 1 cake, then use half the ingredients and 1 mug.
First, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and pinch of salt together in a bowl. Once mixed, add in butter, milk, egg, vanilla. Whisk until combined.
Next, divide the mixture amongst 2 mugs. Place 1 dark chocolate square into the center of each mug. On top of that, add 1/2 teaspoon of strawberry jam. Add 1 teaspoon of water to each mug.
Microwave the mugs for 1 minute and 20 seconds each. Then, let it rest for 3-4 minutes.
Meanwhile, use a mixer to whip the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Grate 1 dark chocolate square as well.
Add a scoop of the whipping cream on top of each mug cake. Then sprinkle the grated dark chocolate.
