Most of us have a favorite treat that we just can’t get enough of.
Some like their treats sweet while others prefer them a bit more savory.
Either way, you can’t go wrong!
It seems like, over the years, people have thought of combining nearly everything when it comes to making delicious treats.
And there is one way to prepare these treats that seems to stand alone as one of the best: deep-frying.
People deep-fry everything from chicken to Twinkies.
If it can go in hot oil, then people have tried putting it in.
One of the best parts of eating deep-fried food is the satisfying crunch of the batter.
But even the most creative deep-fryers may be surprised by the deep-fried treat that one man makes in the video down below.
It’s a deep-fried banana on a stick with an incredible crunchy batter rolled around on the outside.
It’s hard to understand what you’re looking at here if you’ve never had one so I’ll just have to walk you through how it’s done.
First, you need to make the batter.
To start, you’ll need
- some tapioca and rice flour
- powdered sugar
- salt
- vanilla
You’ll mix all of these ingredients together in a bowl while you pour in 500 ml of water.
This may seem like far too much water as you watch your batter begin to take on a thin, milk-like consistency. However, don’t worry.
This batter should be extremely watery.
Before you pour all of the water into your batter, be sure to crack an egg in there as well.
Once you have everything mixed together well, you can start cutting up your bananas. Cut them into slices as seen below and put them onto skewers.
When you feel like you’ve cut enough bananas, you can start heating your oil. In a large wok, heat a lot of oil.
It should be very hot.
Then, go ahead and pour your batter into the hot oil. The oil should hiss and bubble pretty aggressively as it cooks the batter.
When the bubbles have died down a bit, take your banana on a stick and begin to roll it through the crunchy batter that’s floating on the surface of the oil.
It should stick to the banana as you roll it around. Don’t stop until you’ve picked up the entirety of the crispy batter.
Let it cool for a bit and allow all of the excess oil to drip off the banana back into the wok.
Doesn’t it look delicious?
Once it has cooled sufficiently, go ahead and take a bit.
Crunch as satisfying as it is sweet.
This is a tasty treat that you’re going to have to try and make for yourself.
It is certainly a crowd pleaser and no one at the table will be able to get enough of this unique treat.
