You may have seen grown-ups doing public performances, maybe you’ve seen one on a subway, amusement park, or simply on the streets, wherever it may be, it’s always amazing, right?
This one, however, might become one of your favorite impromptu performances ever.
This is not your ordinary public performance.
Usually in a fast-food restaurant, parents deal with their kids when they throw tantrums here and there, and it gives them those stares from other customers who want nothing but to have a peaceful meal.
Well, this mom can’t relate to these eating-out nightmares. In this video, they got the people’s attention- not because her child is acting up, but because her little one is doing something that will make anyone’s head turn.
The little girl’s name is Autumn Rae Shannon.
She was just 9 years old when the video was taken.
She was dining with her mom at McDonald’s and while eating, she decided to give the other diners an appetizing performance.
She sang a very powerful piece, “And I Am Telling You.”
The song was released back in 1982 and was popularized by Jennifer Holliday. This song was her first single release, and it became a success when it topped the Billboard R&B charts and attained top 40 positions on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.
Holiday also won Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female for this single.
In 2006, the song regained popularity when Jennifer Hudson’s character, Effie White sang it in the film adaptation of Dreamgirls.
Is Autumn going to be the song’s next big star?
Why not? This little girl can definitely sing. While mom is eating in the background, Autumn gives the other customers a little show as she beautifully sings the cloud-nine-high notes of the song.
It somehow shows that mom is already used to it, she gives the little performer all the freedom and lets her do what she feels like doing before she eats.
Not sure if it’s a technique to make her eat and behave well but, whatever the reason is, it’s working for her and for the people who get to hear her child’s beautiful voice.
Autumn is now 15-years-old and still singing from the heart.
This then little girl has blossomed into a fine and talented teen.
Autumn continues to hone her talent by doing song covers which she uploaded on her YouTube channel and other social media accounts.
She’s done Bruno Mars, Pink, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and Céline Dion, this girl just keeps on amazing people around the world.
She has also appeared in the series Amber in the Shadows.
Autumn has also released a couple of singles, “Every Christmas” and “I Wish I Could Fly.” Her new album will soon come out.
This promising young singer has so much to offer and we can’t wait to see more of her performances.
She uploaded the original clip of her singing and it gained over a million views!
That’s together with tens of thousands of likes. With her charm and talent, that’s no surprise at all. I mean, how many times have you seen a beautiful young girl serenading diners in a fast-food restaurant?
