Old woman scolds street guy to not ‘bash piano.’ He hops on and brings the house down
A brutally talented way to prove a critic wrong.

When we were still kids, we were taught to respect our elders. It’s actually one of the first things that were taught to us, wouldn’t you agree?

Anyone who existed before us usually has more experience in life and is more knowledgeable about almost everything. Thus resulting in them being uncontested when it comes to an argument about almost anything under the sun. If someone does dare to challenge them, it will be called “disrespect.”

That’s the sad reality in the society that we live in today.

When someone older than you tells you they know better than you, you just need to let them know it doesn’t apply to everything but make sure to do it nicely and politely. And also hope that they’d listen to what you have to say.

Just like this man in the video, the best thing that he did was respond to the argument using a beautiful display of talent.

In this video, a man wearing a hoodie and sunglasses appears to be having a bit of a “heated” discussion with an old woman and man, but the one who seems to be lecturing the guy is the woman.

The senior lady tells the man not to hit the public piano hard because he’s “bashing” on it rather than playing it.

She even tells him to watch video tutorials online or take piano lessons.

Little does she know, the guy in front of her is none other than Brendan Kavanagh.

He is also known as “Dr K”, he is a British pianist and a piano teacher at the same time. According to Wikipedia,

“He specializes in playing and promoting the boogie-woogie genre, almost exclusively improvised, often combined with classical, jazz, blues, rock & roll, and traditional Irish music themes. He regularly performs in open venues on public pianos, sometimes in duet formats with musically inclined passersby or friends. He also plays the piano accordion, with emphasis on traditional Irish tunes.”

Brendan has a self-titled YouTube channel with a huge fanbase of 1.33 million subscribers.

This video of him being lectured by an elderly woman who’s obviously clueless about his real identity has already reached over 11.6 million hits and counting.

You might be thinking that the argument made the video viral- well, you better think again. He wouldn’t have such massive subscribers if all he does is argue with elderly people.

He is known for his public piano performances.

He sometimes disguises himself as an ordinary guy- sometimes a UPS delivery guy, a dirty worker in some uniform, but for most of his videos he’s in his favorite hoodie and sunglasses.

This particular video went viral for one good reason and one reason alone, his outstanding piano-playing skills.

After the old lady gives her piece of advice to this professional pianist, they soon walk away and the moment they disappear from the video, Brendan does what he does best.

He starts hammering the keys on the public piano- of course, with no intention of breaking it. He is playing to an energetic and upbeat boogie-woogie kind of music.

Then he goes slow and the passers-by can’t help but pay attention to the mystery pianist.

Brendan can do the best in all tempos, slow, moderate, and fast, he does it all beautifully.

Though the old woman is no longer seen after walking away, we still bet that she is hearing everything from afar. Who knows, she probably regrets what she told Brendan and wishes to take back the words that she has told him.

Kudos to this professional pianist for proving the old lady’s point wrong, using his pure skills and talent.

Watch the video below to see how Brendan served up a slice of humble pie to the scolding woman.
