Who doesn’t love macaroni and cheese? The creamy texture that it has sure does tickle our tastebuds on a different level.
According to Wikipedia, the recipe first appeared,
“…in the 1824 cookbook The Virginia Housewife written by Mary Randolph. Randolph’s recipe had three ingredients: macaroni, cheese, and butter, layered together and baked in a hot oven. The cookbook was the most influential cookbook of the 19th century, according to culinary historian Karen Hess.”
To level things up, our all-time favorite mac and cheese will now have a pinch of Fall flavors- and it’s all thanks to this giant brand.
Just last month, Kraft announced that the Pumpkin Spice Macaroni and Cheese will soon be in the US this fall!
It’s all because of the success that it gained in Canada. Kraft said in a news release that its Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese is the “same cheesy mac and cheese Americans know and love, now with added fall flavors.”
The food and beverage company launched its new Pumpkin Spice Macaroni and Cheese prior to its formal announcement to the public. Surprisingly, 30,000 Canadians signed up in just 48 hours just to get their hands on the new product. However, only 1,000 Canadians will be chosen to try it for free come October.
It is made using the brand’s classic cheese powder and noodles. According to Kraft, the new product has “hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger” and is “best served curled up with a cozy scarf, flannel shirt, and pumpkin-scented candle.”
The product comes with a fork and in a coffee cup-like container with your name written on it (incorrectly spelled of course).
Sounds familiar? Sure it does! The pumpkin spice has already been around for years. It seemed to be first launched by another giant company, Starbucks, when it launched its popular Pumpkin Spice Latte more than 15 years ago.
Kraft now hopes that this new product could potentially become a new family favorite in the Northern America region.
“After seeing the huge response Pumpkin Spice Mac & Cheese received north of the border, and even hearing some heated debates about it down here, we had to bring it to the U.S. for Americans to try,” said Martina Davis, Brand Manager for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. “Who knows? Maybe it could become a new North American fall favorite.”
Kraft has also launched an open poll on their Twitter account, asking Canadians if they would try their Pumpkin Spice Mac & Cheese and the results were convincingly good.
That’s why they decided to bring it to the US!
Our @KraftDinner friends in Canada had the idea to make pumpkin spice Kraft Mac and Cheese – and now we want to bring it to the US! Who’d give it a try?! 🎃🧀

Just like the Canadians, the Americans were also given the chance to have the new Pumpkin Spice Macaroni and Cheese for free!
The entry period was from Friday, Sept. 25 through Tuesday, Sept. 29. The mechanics were made pretty simple, they just needed to use the hashtags #PumpkinSpiceKMC #Sweepstakes and tag @KraftMacNCheese on Twitter.
1,000 will be chosen to win the limited-edition Kraft Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese products.
Lucky are those who will win and we can’t wait to hear what they have to say about this new product.
Old dish with a new twist? Will it become a hit? Who knows? We just need to trust our taste buds, they know what’s best after all.
