When life is busy, the last thing you might want to do at the end of the day is cook. So a lot of times people turn to food that’s easy – like popping something frozen into the oven or cooking mac and cheese for the umpteenth time.

Luckily, there’s a way to have delicious, homemade dinners without having to slave over a hot stove. We’re talking slow cookers, of course!

Another thing to keep in mind is that since it’s a slow cooker recipe, you need time for it to cook! This one requires about seven hours of cook-time.

Step One:

Place the frozen chicken breasts inside of the slow cooker (aka crockpot).

Step Two:

Add the 1/2 cup of brown sugar to the slow cooker, followed by the 1/2 cup of soy sauce. Kayli points out that you can use any brand.

Step Three:

You’re now going to let it cook. The mom sets her slow cooker to “high,” and lets it sit for five hours.

Step Four:

Once the five hours are up, you’re going to add some baby carrots to the slow cooker. When it comes to how many, Kayli says:

“Just add as many carrots as you like. If you don’t like carrots don’t add as many. Or, you don’t have to add any if you don’t want to!”

Now, place the cover back on and cook for another hour.

Step Five:

After the hour is up, add some chopped broccoli to the slow cooker. If you’re a big fan of veggies, you can toss others in too! Cauliflower, onions, or peppers would also make great additions. It all depends on what you and your family like.

Place the cover back on and cook for an additional hour.
