“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.”Rudyard Kipling

Moms are the best! In most families, they usually do almost everything. Waking up early, preparing all the meals for the day, doing the laundry, cleaning the entire house, look after the kids to make sure that they’re fine, and much more.

Well, we are not discrediting dads who are just as hardworking as moms. It’s just that moms act like the family’s backbone that keeps everything together. To them, home is a sanctuary and their children are their priceless treasures.

Also, there are just some things that moms have a knack for- like getting rid of sticky stains from clothes, picking up bits of dirt from the carpet, pairing kids’ socks and pajamas, and doing their children’s hairstyles.

Life is just so different without our mothers beside us.

A mom from Utah named Patricia Pieri doted upon her beautiful daughter, Isabella, and she loved styling her little girl’s hair in particular. They’re a picture of perfect love between a mother and a child.

Sadly, the day that they feared the most came. One day, Patricia passed away from a rare brain illness that she bravely fought through since Isabella was three.

Her passing left their family broken, especially Isabella, who was just nine years old at that time.

Isabella’s dad, Philip, gave his all to cope with his wife’s absence, but it wasn’t just the same.

He also tried to do his little daughter’s hair, just like how Patricia did it when she was still alive.

Sadly, his best was just not good enough.

“She’d get mad at me for pulling her hair. I didn’t know how to do it. One day [Isabella] came home and it looked beautiful. I call her my princess and she looks the part, she plays the part and her confidence is way up, which is what I’ve been intending.”

It’s not just simple hairstyling, it’s one habit that Isabella and her mom loved doing together.

The question then was, who’s going to fix Isabella’s hair?

It was none other than her bus driver, Tracy Dean. Since Isabella’s mom’s passing, Tracy watched the young girl fix her hair by herself.

For girls of her age, it isn’t that easy to brush and style hair, especially since she’s used to having a pair of helping hands to do it for her before.

Tracy knew where the little girl was coming from.

Tracy is also a mom, she has four kids herself, with one of her kids closest to Isabella’s age. She knew that the self-esteem of girls is greatly affected by the way they look.

She didn’t plan to replace Patricia in Isabella’s heart, but she wanted the young girl to know that things would eventually become better, one braid at a time.

“I could tell she was struggling with her hair. We usually do two French braids first and once in a while she just wants one braid. I also taught her how to brush her hair. She’d get on the bus and she’d say, ‘I brushed my hair. Does it look good? I’ll say, ‘You did awesome.’”

Philip was beyond grateful for the kind and selfless gesture shown by Tracey to his daughter.

“She’s such a nice woman.”

Tracey treated her like her own child.

She didn’t mind doing Isabella’s hair every day. She was just looking at the children as if they were her own and thought to herself, “What if it was my child?”

“It’s just the way my mom raised me, to be nice to everyone—people who need a little love in their life. I like to give all of the kids a chance—even the naughty kids.”
