Skating is probably one of the most fun things to do in the open. The feeling of being able to quickly glide from one place to another is undeniably awesome, especially for kids, and even to those who are kids at heart.
Whether you are on ice skates, rollerblades, or a skateboard, the thrill and excitement that it gives are all the same.
It makes you feel free and, as long as your on it, nothing’s going to stop you.
Truth be told, not everyone was given the ability to skate. Some people are just bad at balancing themselves when they skate. Also, one of the most common things that hold them back is the fear of being embarrassed once they fall down.
However, it’s always a delight once we see someone who does it incredibly well, right?
Like with this epic performance from a young lady.
In a YouTube video that was uploaded more than five years ago, a young girl performed a skating routine to one of the most famous classic songs.
It was none other than “I Will Always Love You” by the late, multi-award winner, Whitney Houston.
Her name is Luna Casaretto and she has been skating for a long time now.
Her years of experience have surely honed her talent in skating and you can see it in her video.
Grace and emotion? You can definitely see it in her performance.
When she got introduced to the crowd, the gymnasium was filled with cheers and applause. You could feel the excitement of the audience, ready to see what the young lady was about to show.
Houston’s classic song starts to play.
Casaretto starts to move gracefully.
She takes every step gently, leaving you in suspense for her next move.
Whenever she accomplishes a spectacular movement, you hear the crowd loudly cheering for her in the background.
This lady is really good at making every step look easy.
She spins, turns, and does perfect landing positions. She executes each part of her routine at such a high-pace while maintaining elegance at the same time. You can tell from this performance alone that she’s really been skating for quite a while now.
Casaretto isn’t done yet! She’s got more up her sleeve.
As the music intensifies, so does her movements. She glides and slides over the entire gymnasium, giving the crowd a closer look at her skating prowess.
Her routine has no boring part at all, she wouldn’t let it.
She even does a 360-degree spin while she’s mid-air!
We may have seen a double or even triple axle in figure skating on ice, but not like this.
Ice skates have razor-sharp blades that easily skid through the ice field, making the performer balanced on their feet.
Rollerblades, on the other hand, have wheels that are edge-less, they don’t skid on anything- especially on a slippery gymnasium like that.
An inch of miscalculation may result in a serious injury or may even put her career or life on the line.
Worry not, though, because Casaretto is a master of her craft, she did each part of her routine with so much ease.
But wait, she shows another spectacular move during the song’s climax!
She endlessly spins with one leg up!
It is just in time when Houston was about to roar high on the song’s chorus.
It takes a lot of concentration and practice to perfect such a move, wouldn’t you agree? She wants to show everyone that a skater of her caliber can do anything.
She can also skate backward while holding her left leg! What can this young lady not do?
Before she ends her performance, she does that awesome spin again.
And as the song fades to its final line, she skates towards the middle of the gymnasium and elegantly settles down, right where she started.
Unsurprisingly, the crowd showers her with cheers and rounds of applause after.
We will always love this performance from Casaretto! Catch it yourself in the video below.
