Are you in the mood for some tasty quarantine guacamole? Well, don’t let social distancing blues prevent you from getting your avocado mash fix.
The best guac to ever grace the planet is coming to you right now over the Internet!
Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but rabid fans of Chipotle’s guacamole will agree that it’s pretty darned good.
Chipotle’s executive chef, Chad Brauze, recently went live on Instagram to share THE guacamole recipe that the Mexican restaurant chain is known for, and you won’t find a better demo of it anywhere.
This is exactly how they make it in the restaurant. No copycats or knockoffs here!
And won’t believe how easy it is to whip this up at home.
To be honest, this isn’t the first time that Chipotle’s guacamole recipe has been shared online.
But, it doesn’t get any more authentic than this!
Nowhere else will you get the details on three different versions of this recipe straight from the horse’s mouth.
“I’m gonna teach you guys how to make some awesome Chipotle guacamole just like we make it in the restaurant…I guarantee you it’s the same recipe, same style, same technique.
Apparently, that’s not the only thing that Chef Chad is sharing with fans of this dip/condiment/toast butter/finger food. Are you ready for something he calls SUPER EXTRA GUAC?
“Not only that, but I’m also going to teach you how to make some super extra guac.”
When the man in charge of Chipotle’s menu is willing to share some insider tips and tricks that’ll make a run on avocado’s the latest lockdown craze, you better pay attention.
In the 26-minute video posted on Chipotle’s Instagram page, Chef Chad shows viewers how they can recreate the original recipe right in their kitchen.
He patiently walks everyone through each step of the process and explains why you’re doing what you’re doing, so you don’t accidentally screw up!
The talented head chef also demonstrates how to tweak the original recipe to make superfood guac, pomegranate guac, and his personal favorite – guacamole ranch!
Since a recipe is only as good as its ingredients, picking the perfect avocado is a must. Grab a Mexican Hass avocado if you can find it. It’s what the restaurant uses to make this recipe.
Also, skip the overripe, mushy orbs you find at the grocery store. It turns out they aren’t all that great for making guacamole, at least not a 5-star version like this one.
Instead, as Chef Chad explains, pick fruit that slightly gives when you press it with your finger.
“If it gives to much it means it’s they’ve been bruised or in transit. And if they’re a little bit too hard, it seems super firm, they’re not going to taste as good, it’ll be creamy, it might be kind of vegetable or grassy tasting.”
If you’re a dunce in the kitchen, don’t worry because the instructions Chef Chad provides are super easy to follow. Here’s what you need to get started:
