What you’ll need:

  • 95 ml of water or just over 3 oz.
  • 1.5 grams of salt or 1/4 tsp.
  • 150 grams or 1cup of flour

  • 30 grams of green onion or ~1 cup
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • 50 grams of cheese or ~1/2 a cup
  • 1/4 cup of flour

  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 20 grams of salted butter or ~1 1/2 tbsp
  • Oil for frying

To make:

In a clean bowl, put water and salt. Mix and then, add the flour.

Continue mixing until well incorporated.

Proceed by kneading the dough with clean hands.

You know you are done when the dough isn’t sticky anymore.

Set aside and rest for 10 minutes.

Divide your dough into 4 equal pieces.

Then proceed with dough rounding.

Cover the dough and let them rest.

Get your green onions.

Wash, dry, and chop them. Place them in a bowl and add a pinch of baking soda. Mix well.

Mix cornstarch and flour. Use this to dust your working area.

Get one of the dough balls and, using your roller, flatten each dough ball to about 18 cm or ~ 7 inches in diameter.

Do this to all dough balls.

Next, dust your work area again and place one dough on your table.

Dust the dough with flour and cornstarch. Place another dough ball, and repeat.

Stack and flatten

Once you have stacked them all, flatten them together.

It’s like creating very thin pizza dough until it reaches 28 cm or ~11 inches in diameter.

Carefully separate each piece of dough.

Microwave butter for 15 seconds. Get one piece of dough, and brush it with butter.

Put in your green onions and cheese. Spread them equally.

How to fold

Then, Helly showed 2 methods of folding. Follow which one is easier for you.

Do these for all four doughs until you get four onion and cheese packets.

Heat your pan and fry for two minutes on each side.
