Allow me to describe it to you. The smell of freshly cooked fries — they’re gorgeous, mouthwatering, crave-able, tangy, salty, sweet, and perhaps even nutty. How about something hot and spicy?

There are nearly 4,000 potato varieties, including common commercial varieties, each with unique agricultural or culinary characteristics. Oh my goodness! That’s a lot!

Potatoes can be prepared in several ways too. Including skin-on or peeled, whole or cut up, with or without seasonings.

Then, we need to know more recipes for potatoes, other than the usual French fries. Do you agree?

Potato Balls with Spices

Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 50 ml of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of Herbes de Provence
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

These are the steps you’ll need to do:

Step 1: Preparing the potatoes.

To prepare the potatoes, first, peel the 1-kilogram potato and make holes or scoop using a melon baller.

Then place into a large bowl. Separate the potato balls and the peeled ones.

Step 2: Get a mixing bowl and put together the rest of the ingredients.

Put 50 ml of vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon of Herbes de Provence, 1/2 teaspoon of dried garlic, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Then mix.

Reminder: Get a separate mixing bowl and take half of the mixture.

Step 3: Add the potato balls to the mixing bowl.

Get a plate to cover the bowl and shake it, as shown in the video. Do the same for the other mixing bowl of the peeled potatoes.

Step 4: Bake the potatoes.

Set the first batch of potatoes (potato balls) to bake for 25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit). While the peeled potatoes, bake for 40 minutes.

Step 5: Finally, serve after baking.

Enjoy these potato balls with spices while they’re still hot!
