Along with the foods that take more preparation to make, a party wouldn’t be complete without some form of chips and dip with the rest of the food. Still, what kind of chips and what kind of dip to use? Tortilla chips and salsa is good as are plain chips with a ranch or onion dip. Still, this baked fontina dip is a truly next-level treat that your taste buds will thank you for. The ingredients are simple, the preparation is easy and the flavor is unbelievable. So let’s get started.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 pounds of fontina cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 8 cloves of thinly sliced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of minced thyme leaves
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of minced rosemary leaves
  • 1-2 sliced baguettes
  • salt
  • pepper

Here’s what you do:

1. To begin, set up your oven by moving one of the oven racks closer to the top of the oven—about five inches away if possible. After you do that, preheat your broiler and get out a cast iron skillet.

2. Next, prepare your fontina cheese by taking off the rind and chopping it into cubes. When you’re done, later the cubes of cheese in the bottom of your skillet and drizzle some olive oil on top of them. After that, sprinkle in your garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper on top.

3. With that, your preparation is done! Wait for the oven to be hot enough and put the skillet in the oven for five to six minutes. Pay attention to the top of the dish and wait for everything to start to turn brown and the cheese to start bubbling. Still, don’t leave it in for too long because the cheese can burn if you’re not careful!

4. When the time is up, take the dish out of the oven and serve it while it’s hot! Ideally, you can leave your cheese dip in the skillet and put it on a hot pad with your slices of baguette on the side to serve it with. Enjoy!
