It’s great to have them in meals and recipes, but what if you or someone you know is a picky eater? Maybe you just need to be creative!
Carrots are great sources of nutrition.

It also lowers your risk of cancer because of antioxidants. It also helps with boosting your immune system, ease constipation, and control diabetes.
As helpful as all of these sounds, how can you prepare this vegetable in a fun way? The YouTube channel Delicious Day shows us how.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
200g of carrots
Salt
130g of potato or cornstarch (wheat flour works too)
20ml of water
For the seasoning, you’ll need:
1 tbsp of soy sauce
1 tbsp of oyster sauce
1 tsp of sugar
Half a teaspoon of chili or paprika powder (you can also leave this out if you don’t want the spiciness)
1 tsp of minced garlic
2 tbsp of green onions
1 tbsp of unsweetened peanut butter
2 tbsp of avocado oil or any neutrally flavored vegetable oil
First, let’s make the carrot dough!
Peel the carrots and slice them into manageable pieces. You can either slice them into cubes or in discs but discs are much easier. You can also use this time to chop your green onions.
Put them into a microwave-safe glassware and put the 20ml of water. Cover it with a microwave-safe lid and heat it in the microwave for around 7 minutes. You can use the steamer too. Steam the vegetables until they’re tender.
Time to construct the dough.
Turn your carrot into a puree either with a tabletop blender or a hand blender. Next, toss in the starch or flour. Sprinkle about two pinches of salt.
Get a dollop of the mixture and roll it into a ball about an inch wide. If you feel your dough is a bit dry and grainy, put a bit of water on your palm and roll it. Then, using your thumb, press into the ball to make a hole, but don’t punch all the way through.
Toss the carrot dough into a pot of boiling water. Make sure to mix them gently to avoid them from clumping and sticking together. Once they float, scoop them out with a strainer.
Now, let’s make the seasoning.
In a large bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, chili powder, sugar, garlic, green onions, and unsweetened peanut butter.
In a small pot, heat your vegetable oil until it’s smoking. Pour it gently over the mixture and watch it sizzle. Mix it to incorporate the ingredients. To make it velvety, add four tablespoons of the dough water.
In a serving bowl, combine your sauce and your carrot donuts.
Mix well to coat all of your carrot donuts. Garnish with a bit of green onions. You can also use this recipe for potatoes.
