And who can blame you? They’re cheap, convenient, and totally tasty. And let’s face it, if you’re reading this article you probably still eat hot dogs to this very day!
But, if you’re bored of eating them the old fashioned way, then ditch the bun and check out this new hot dog snack that’ll have you begging for more of something that’s… delectably different!
Are you in search of maximum flavor with minimum effort? Then grab 2 hot dog links, a package of pre-made pizza dough, and an egg so we can get started!
Step 1: Chop Chop
Cut the ends off the hot dogs and give them to your dog as a pre-dinner snack. Don’t worry, it’s not cannibalism – we’re talking different kinds of dogs here!
Next, cut the hot dog into thirds so that you have 6 mini links to work with.
Step 2: Make Pizza Dough-nut Holes
Grab some pre-made pizza dough, roll it up into a ball, and then pat it between your hands to make it flat, like a pancake.
Basically, you’re going through the motions of making mini-sized pizza pies, but without all the fun toppings.
Next, grab a shot glass (or knife) and use it to cut out a little circle in the center of the dough.
Step 3: Wrap It Up
Now that you have a cute little pizza dough-nut, it’s time to stick a hot dog in the dough.
So, grab a hot dog with one hand and place it on the cutting board upright, like a tower. Then using your other hand, lightly wrap the dough around the bottom of the hot dog.
Step 4: Give It An Egg Wash
Once all the mini muffin dogs have been transferred to a muffin pan, it’s time to give the entire batch an egg wash.
To do that, you’ll need to beat one whole egg with a fork, then use a brush to lightly coat the dough around the hot dog.
Step 4: Bake, Wait, Munch
Bake the mini muffin dogs inside an oven that’s been pre-heated to 350F degrees.
Wait for 15 minutes until the dough has baked to a golden brown, then dig in!

Ingredients:
- ready-made pizza dough
- 2 hot dogs
- 1 egg
Directions:
- Cut the ends off of 2 hot dogs
- Cut the hot dogs into thirds so you have 6 mini links
- Make 6 mini dough rounds with pre-packaged pizza dough
- Cut a hole in the center of pizza dough with a shot glass or knife
- Stick hot dog link in the center of the pizza dough-nut hole
- Wrap dough around the bottom of the hot dog, then transfer to a muffin pan
- Beat one egg; brush dough with egg wash
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes until dough browned
- Eat them mini hot dog muffins, yum!
