Everyone who likes potatoes knows that there are numerous ways to prepare this tremendously versatile vegetable. Another item lying around in your kitchen is more fun to use than you might have expected. We’re talking about a muffin pan.
Combine potatoes with the muffin pan, and you’ll get about a dozen more recipes. Let’s take a look at one that involves Parmesan cheese as well.
We love the recipe because it is a quick-to-make side meal, and it’s so flavorful due to the thyme and Parmesan.

The best thing yet: they look impressive, and no one would assume that they’re so easy to make. Something like a perfect appetizer, aren’t they?
You’ll need about an hour to make this meal, but first, preheat the oven to 375F.
First, we’ll give you a list of ingredients. For 4-6 servings, you’ll need:
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
- 1tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp thyme leaves
- salt, pepper
- 8-10 gold potatoes, sliced thin
Keep in mind that you can use any other herbs you like if you don’t prefer thyme.
Feel free to add some rosemary, oregano, basil.
Another reminder: potato slices should be about 1.6 mm thick.
If you have a mandoline slicer, use it to slice potatoes.
Take a large bowl. You’ll mix everything in it.
Place potato slices in a bowl. Add melted butter, Parmesan cheese, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Mix it gently to coat every potato slice evenly.
Don’t stop until it’s all mixed up perfectly. You’ll know when that happens.
Now, the fun part. Grab your muffin pan, and we’re about to stack those slices.
So, take those potato slices, and layer them into stacks. When you do that, please place them in the muffin cups you’ve previously prepared.
Sprinkle stacks with some herbs to add the extra flavor.
It’s time to put the meal into the oven.
Bake it until the edges and tops are golden brown. Take a look at the photo, and you’ll know what we mean.
Besides, it’s relatively easy to see when the potato is done. Baking should last around 55 minutes.
Remove the dish from the oven, and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
After potato stacks have been chilling for a couple of minutes, take them out of a pan. They’re ready to serve. Garnish them with Parmesan cheese, and you’re good to go.
Be careful while taking the stacks out of a pan. Use a knife or something to prevent them from falling apart. Enjoy!
