Eggs are a breakfast staple in many of our lives. They are packed with protein, easy to make, versatile, and delicious.
Since they are something that we eat often, you’ll want to know the easiest and most unique ways to prepare them. You’ll also want to make sure that you can tell how fresh they are.
Here are some egg hacks to help you learn all of that.
Egg Yolk Shapes
Place a cookie cutter inside of your frying pan. Place the egg yolk inside of the cookie cutter and the egg white on the outside.
Hard Boil Eggs In the Oven
Place your eggs in a muffin pan and bake them for 30 minutes at 325-350 degrees.
You’re Storing Eggs Wrong
Instead of storing eggs with the pointed side up, you should store them with the pointed side down. It keeps them fresher.
Remove an Egg Yolk
Squeeze a plastic water bottle and hold it over your egg yolk and release. The bottle will suck up the yolk.
Clean a Dirty Glass or Jar
Put some cracked egg shells inside of it and fill it with water and shake it around. All the junk on the inside of your jar or bottle will slide right out.
How to Tell If an Egg Is Fresh
When an egg is fresh the white of the egg will be more yellowish in color and will be thicker and stay closer to the yolk when it’s cracked. As the weeks go by the white of the egg will become more clear and will thin out.

Fresh eggs will sink in a glass of water.
Separate Egg Yolk
Place a funnel over a glass and crack an egg over it. The whites will drop into the glass and the yolk will remain in the top of the funnel.
Dual Colored Eggs
Blend some purple cabbage until it becomes a puree. Take two glass and put an egg yolk in each of them. Pour some puree into each glass and mix it around until it turns blue. Squeeze a lemon into one of the glasses until it turns purple. Pour the yolks side by side into a frying pan and plop the yolks on top.
Peel an Egg Method #1
Add a slice of lemon to a pot of boiling eggs. When you go to crack the egg, the entire shell will come off in one piece.
Peel and Egg Method #2
After boiling your egg, place it in a cup of cold water and shake it around. The shell will come right off.
