Man shows how to lose 15 lbs in one week with “Peel-A-Pound” soup recipe

You guys, this is no joke- you’re actually going to lose weight with this soup recipe! And the best part? It’s mouthwateringly delicious!

It was shared by T-Roy Cooks on YouTube just a few years ago and has been going viral ever since. There’s a reason for it, too- people are losing weight on it and getting all the tasty and healthful benefits along with it.

May we introduce you to the “Peel-A-Pound” Soup.

T-Roy explains that his grandmother shared the recipe with him “some 30+ years ago.” As he recalls, the recipe was shared with her by a heart doctor and was used to help obese patients lose weight before going into surgery.

Now, call us crazy, but a weight loss recipe doesn’t get any more legit than that!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 28 oz. can of stewed whole tomatoes
  • 1 envelope of Onion Soup Mix (this is optional but oh-so-good)
  • 4 cups of water
  • 7 beef Bullion cubes
  • 1 medium to large head of cabbage
  • 1/2 a stalk of celery
  • 2 bell peppers (the color is up to you)
  • 2 onions
  • 5 cloves of garlic

Step 1: Mix tomatoes and soup mix

Put the entire can of whole stewed tomatoes into a very large-sized cooking pot. You’ll want one of the biggest you have to hand because, while the veggies will cook down, you’ll need plenty of room to fit them in at first.

Then add in your sleeve of onion soup mix and stir together.

Step 2: Add the beef broth

Just toss your bouillon cubes into the pot and pour in 4 cups of water.

Step 3: Time for the goods

Chop up all of your veggies into manageable bite-sized pieces. Add in your onions, celery, bell peppers, and garlic.

Step 4: Cram in your cabbage

There will be a small mountain of cabbage after you’ve gotten it chopped. Feel free to stuff the pot chock-full with it, so long as you can still cover the pot with a lid.

Step 5: Let it meld

Bring your soup up to a boil and then reduce the temperature to a strong simmer and cover with the lid. Check on the soup every 15 minutes or so to give it a stir and check the veggies.

When everything is as tender as you like it, the soup is done!

Now all that’s left to do is dig in! You can salt and pepper the soup to your taste if you want, but honestly- it’s just extra. This soup is mouthwatering and jam-packed with flavor all on its own.

According to T-Roy’s video caption:

To lose weight with this recipe, it must be followed along with a restricted diet. On each day, you can have the soup plus fruits or vegetables, or both depending on the day, and each day includes different types of foods you can enjoy along with your soup.
