Almost everyone loves hot dogs, especially kids. But you can only dress them up with so many condiments before you run out of ideas. Well, one TikTok user shared a creative way to make a fun and delicious meal. And it involves hot dogs and pasta.
Directions
This hot dog recipe is unlike anything you’ve seen. And the dish itself only contains four ingredients. In less than five minutes, you can have everything prepped and ready to go in the oven.
Although the recipe calls for 10 long hot dogs, you can use less or more depending on the number of people and how hungry they are. For the best flavor, go with 100 percent beef. Also, you can use the regular size hot dogs if wanted although the longer ones work best.
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Then, push each hot dog through one Manicotti pasta shell. You don’t want to cook the pasta. Just take your time and it’ll slide in without much effort.
Then, place the pasta filled with hot dogs in a 13×9-inch baking dish. Next, get out a block of Velvetta cheese. Again, you can use a different brand but this particular one offers great flavor and the melted texture you want.
Cut six slices of Velvetta cheese. For this recipe, make them thick, roughly 1/4-inch each. Evenly place the cheese over the hot dogs and pasta.
Now, you want to cover everything in the baking dish with just enough milk to cover the pasta. While the TikTok user suggests full milk, you can also use two percent. Just make sure you don’t use too much or too little.
With that done, cover the dish with tin foil. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. Since the user doesn’t provide an actual time, you’ll need to keep an eye on it. The goal is to cook the pasta until tender and the cheese on top becomes a golden brown.
With that done, remove the dish from the oven. All you need to do now is put one or more pasta-filled hot dogs on a plate. When you cut into it, you’ll be impressed. Even more so after taking a bite.
Ingredients
- 10 Beef long hot dogs (uncooked)
- Manicotti pasta (uncooked)
- Velvetta cheese (cut into squares roughly 1/4-inch thick)
- Milk (preferably full but two percent also works)
