If you’ve been cooking with slow cookers for a long time, you know just how versatile these handy devices can be. Though they can easily be used to make simple chilis and stews, they can also be used to prepare more intimidating meat-based dishes as well. Whether it’s a pot roast or a ham, slow cookers can cook many different meats perfectly—the flavor depends mostly on what kinds of flavoring we include.

Today, we have particularly delicious recipe for honey ginger glazed pork loin that you can make in your slow cooker. Like most slow cooker recipes, the preparation is incredibly simple and doesn’t require much preparation at all. Once you’ve made the marinade, simply pour it over your meat, close everything up and wait for it to be done. If you make this recipe even once, you’re sure to want it again and again. So let’s get started.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 pounds of pork loin
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of fish sauce
  • 1/2 bunch of cilantro
  • 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Here’s what you do:

1. To get started, rub your olive oil, salt, pepper, half of your chopped garlic and half of your chopped ginger all over your pork loin. In the meantime, get out a frying pan and put it over high heat until water sizzles in it. At that point, put the pork loin in the frying pan and make sure it’s seared all over, somewhere around one to two minutes per side.

2. After that, throw your pork loin in your slow cooker along with any other garlic and ginger that was leftover in the pan. In the meantime, get out a large bowl and mix your lime juice, honey, Worcestershire sauce, fish sauce, cilantro, soy sauce, ginger and garlic. Pour that marinade over your pork as well.

3. In another small bowl, make a slurry by combining your cornstarch and water into a mixture. Add that into the slow cooker as well, pouring it over the pork and mixing it in before closing the slow cooker.

4. Set the slow cooker to cook on high for four hours or on low for seven hours. When the time is up, open it up to make sure the meat is cooked all the way through and everything is nicely glazed. If it looks good, cut into it and dig in!
