Mayonnaise. Some people like it, some don’t. Spread it on bread, add it to a dish, or lick it off a spoon. You’ll find mayonnaise anywhere, from your local supermarket to upscale stores downtown.
It’s actually pretty easy to make. If you’re up for it, check out this easy recipe, one you can even add a few herbs or spices of your own too. Plus it is arguably much healthier than commercial products.
Ingredients:
- 100 ml of milk
- 200 ml of oil
- 1.5 tbsp of apple vinegar
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- Black pepper
- 1 tsp of mustard
You’ll need a blender for this one. Pour in the milk and oil and allow the machine to beat them together. Don’t move the glass or anything, just let the blender do its thing.
Wait for the mixture to turn into an almost frothy looking liquid then continue beating the mixture for another minute.
Once that’s done, add in 1.5 tbsp of apple vinegar, 1/2 tsp of salt, black pepper, and 1 tsp of mustard.
Use the machine to mix them all together once again. Be gentle but firm, allowing the mayonnaise to blend well and thicken in the process. And yes, by all means, take a picture and post it on Instagram.
It’s entirely up to you where and how you want to store your mayonnaise.
Not a lot of people know the history of mayonnaise. And that’s because there are so many accounts and so many different versions of those accounts.
One Google search and you’ll be wondering which story is true. Whatever it is and however it was invented, the world thanks that random person. So do yourself a favor and make your own at home.

Making mayonnaise was now easy , all into a blender and ready. Now comes this recipe, wonderful and less calories. Thank you so much. P.S. I love a touch of sugar with the mayo.”
