Two years ago, at the 35th annual National SHAG Dance Championships (NSDC), powerhouse duo Autumn Jones and Brennar Goree put on an amazing performance.

They wowed both the onlookers and judges with their flawless routine and fancy footwork. It’s no wonder why they were hailed as the Overall Champions of the competition.

They have been dancing together since they were young and together, they have amassed a long list of accomplishments over the years.

According to the Sea Sun And Swing website, they were just eight years old when they first met.

Then, they started Carolina Shag dancing together at the age of 13. They aren’t only Shag champions, because they have also won titles in West Coast Swing.

Though Carolina Shag dance is an old style of dance, Autumn and Brennar still enjoy roaming around the globe and continue bringing the 1940s dance to the people.

In fact, Autumn even taught her son, Connor Sanders, how to shag dance.

Autumn and Brennar may have been dancing for a long time now but they also have their separate professions.

Brennar is a department of defense contractor for the United States Army National Guard, while Autumn is a cosmetologist and bartender.

The National Shag Dance Championships – home of the bests!

According to their website, the NSDC started back in 1984 and has been taking place in Myrtle Beach since then. It is also the “longest continuously running shag dance contest in the United States.”

They also added:

“Past winners of the NSDC have performed on countless TV shows and events including: Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, PGA Annual Banquets, NBA Games, Beach Music Awards, and Harvard University.”

Don’t blink and try to catch up with Autumn and Brennar’s incredible performance!

The duo danced to Jerry Lee Lewis’ version of the hip song “Drinking Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee.”

If you are familiar with the song, then you should know that it has a fast and lively beat. And there’s nothing that could complement the song more than these two highly-skilled dancers’ lightning-fast footwork!

Autumn and Brennar’s slick movements and fast-paced passion are the perfect ingredients in nailing a Carolina Shag dance routine.

They are spinning and bending their toes like they are boneless humans. You would even think that gravity was helping them throughout their routine.

The footwork really killed it!

The totality of their routine is undeniably amazing, but the footwork is really the show-stopper.

We may have already seen a lot of Carolina Shag dancers- but not as fancy and slick as Autumn and Brennar.

Their showmanship only proves that they are both award-winning dancers.

At a certain point in their routine, with the help of her partner, Autumn holds her leg up and twirls several times like a whirlwind. But if you’re thinking that only Autumn can toss a beautiful spin, then you’re terribly mistaken.

Brennar stuns the crowd with his own version of spin with his one leg up.
