What is LOVE? – This is probably one of the most asked questions of all-time.
Although love is often referred to as an “emotion”, there are still in-depth explanations as to what love really is. It’s just a four-letter word but gets incorporated into a lot of things.
According to Good Therapy:
“Love is complex. A mix of emotions, behaviors, and beliefs associated with strong feelings of affection, protectiveness, warmth, and respect for another person. Love can also be used to apply to non-human animals, to principles, and to religious beliefs. For example, a person might say he or she loves his or her dog, loves freedom, or loves God.”
Love is simply a wonderful feeling.
Married couples who have been living their beautiful lives are the best examples of life-long love. They are the living testimony of the wonderful works of love.
Living together makes every couple used to one another, like saying a word without talking. And let’s face it, life is not a fairy tale, so even those so-called happily married couples also have arguments here and there.
For married couple Jo and Kevin Taylor, their long years of relationship was about to get hit by an “ambush makeover.”
The term is kind of self-explanatory. You give two people a makeover and surprise them both with unexpected results.
Jo and Kevin have been married for more than 50 years.
To be happily married for more than half a century is a milestone not everyone can achieve! Their relationship has to be so magical to last this long. It takes more than wedding rings and vows for everything to work well for the past years that they’re together.
They met when they were 14 and 16! These two are teenage sweethearts!
They have five children, fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. They were chosen by TODAY for a special edition of their “Ambush Makeovers” on Valentine’s Day.
They underwent the magical hands of well-known designers and artists. Their more than 50 years of love might be up for a little spice with this makeover.
Before the outcome of the makeover, they first gave the people a glimpse of their happy story.
According to Kevin, “She’s my bestfriend” and for Jo, “We just enjoy life. We just have fun!” These are probably the keys to life-long love. Take it from these two! They sure know how to keep the fire burning.
Jo wanted one thing, and that’s for Kevin to trim his beard.
Many wives can relate to this. If there’s one thing that most couples argue about, it has to be that full-grown beard. Jo has fought long enough in getting her husband’s beard trimmed, the makeover was her best and only chance.
“I’ve been trying for 20 years to get him to trim it and he won’t do it.”
She has always wanted blonde hair.
She admitted, that sometimes, change is needed, especially when you’re a woman who’s been married for over 50 years. She left everything in the hands of the professionals who were bound to give her the makeover.
And for Kevin? Nah, he didn’t care that much! He’s definitely down for everything.
“I can just imagine what you’re going to do to me.”
Well, that pretty much goes to a lot of men. We really don’t care that much about how we look, as long as we present ourselves well, then that’s good enough for us.
