Looking for a straightforward stuffing recipe for Thanksgiving this year? This classic take on the savory dish is sure to please.

Cook time: 1h 15min

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 baking sheet

1 large mixing bowl

1 large skillet

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup of Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Small Yellow Onion, chopped
  • 2 Stalks of Celery, chopped
  • 8 cups of Fresh Bread Cubes (or stale bread)
  • 2 tsp of Poultry Seasoning
  • About 2 cups (or more) of Chicken Stock
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees.
  2. It’s important that your bread isn’t soft when you mix in all the other ingredients. So the first thing you need to do is dry those cubes out. Lay your bread cubes out on a baking sheet and place them in the oven for 45 minutes. Give them a toss half way in to make sure that all the cubes are evenly dried out.
  3. Take them out and set them to the side and increase the heat to 375 degrees. You will bake your stuffing at this temperature.
  4. Grab a large skillet and melt your butter over medium heat. Once it’s melted, add the onions, celery and a pinch of salt. Let this simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, add your bread crumbs and vegetables. Add in the poultry seasoning, black pepper and chicken stock. With a large spoon, mix everything together, making sure to coat every inch of bread with the stock.
  6. Place the stuffing in the oven for about 30 minutes or until the top is a nice golden brown.

Take out and serve to friends and family this Thanksgiving!
