All chocolate lovers are so lucky because chocolate comes in different forms. They can come in bars, nuggets, drinks, cake, ice cream, sauce, pastries, and cookies.

You’re ready to make these chocolate crinkles!

First things first, add cocoa powder, white and brown sugar, and oil to a mixing bowl. Mix all these ingredients with a wooden spoon until they’re well combined. Add the eggs and mix with a hand mixer until it becomes a smooth thick liquid.

Add the vanilla extract before adding the rest of the ingredients.

This is important. Do not overmix.

Overmixing can result in gummy or unchewy cookies. How do you know when to stop mixing? When all your ingredients have mixed well, stop mixing. That’s it.

Another step that cannot be overlooked is chilling the dough.

The dough needs to be chilled for four hours (or in the freezer for an hour) so that you can shape the dough into balls. It’s an important step that cannot be removed or quickened. During this time, do something else while waiting.

You can even nap while waiting!

After four hours (or one hour if you placed it in the freezer), take it out and begin creating balls with an ice cream scooper. If you live in a warm place, be sure to work quickly.

Don’t let your dough warm up!

Dunk the dough balls in the icing sugar to coat every inch of that dough.

Place the sugar-covered dough on a baking sheet and flatten it into a disc with your fingers. Bake the cookies at 180°C (~350-360°F) for 10 to 12 minutes.

If you’ve got another batch of dough waiting, you can form them into balls before you place them back in the fridge. Roll them in the icing sugar when you’re ready to bake them.
