If you love desserts, and especially baked desserts, then you’ve got to check out the YouTube channel, Natashas Kitchen.
There are all kinds of great ideas for the perfect dessert and Natasha will walk you through the step-by-step process of making each dish.
In the video below you can watch as she creates the most delicious-looking blueberry lemon cake that you will ever see.
And after seeing how good the cake looked when it came out of the oven, there’s no doubt that it tastes just as great.
Let’s get started, shall we?
Start with eggs and sugar.
Natasha begins by cracking a couple of eggs into a bowl with a cup of white sugar.
She mixes these together until they are well blended.
Add some sour cream.
Then, mix in the olive oil, vanilla extract, and salt.
In another bowl, Natasha mixes up some flour and baking powder. She slowly adds the flour mixture to the other dish about a third at a time.
This way she is able to get a good mix of the ingredients without having it clump up.
Once the entire bowl of flour has been mixed in, Natasha adds one of the ingredients that gives this dessert its name: the lemon.
She takes a whole lemon and grates it over the bowl until she has the amount of lemon zest that she is looking for.
Then she takes one half of a lemon and juices it into the batter.
After mixing, she sets it aside.
Now for the blueberries.
Natasha washes her blueberries before adding some corn starch and lemon juice. She mixes the berries around until none of the residual starch is visible.
Now she’s ready to pour the batter into a baking pan.
Work in layers.
She dumps about half of the batter into it before stopping to add some blueberries. She covers the entire layer of batter with the berries before dumping the rest of the batter on top.
After all of the batter is in the dish, Natasha dumps the rest of the blueberries on top of the cake.
She makes sure to press them down with her spatula so that they sink into the batter about halfway.
Then she puts the cake into the oven for about an hour. When it comes out it looks amazing!
She adds a generous amount of powdered sugar over the top of the cake to finish it off.
Natasha makes sure to give the cake a try and based on her reaction, the cake must be delicious.
