Have you ever had the luxury of getting a makeover? If so, you know how amazing it can make you feel. If you haven’t, that’s okay, most of us haven’t had the experience. But, chances are you’ve seen the before and after photos of other makeovers and they probably left you speechless.
That’s just what happened for one woman thanks to the work of her old high school boyfriend.
Meet Christopher Hopkins. He’s better known as “The Makeover Guy”. He has done countless transformations, leaving his clients looking absolutely stunning. In many cases, they’re unrecognizable (but in a good way)!
Hopkins has a YouTube channel where he interviews women before and after their makeovers. You can clearly see the transformations of many of his clients. While Hopkins takes pride in all of his work, one of his clients had a special place in his heart.
After 16 years, Hopkins was reunited with his old high school girlfriend Kari.
Their reunion alone was special, but knowing what was going to happen next made their reunion even more meaningful. He was about to give her a makeover to update her look and make her look younger.
Hopkins started with Kari’s hair. With one look he could tell it was permed with a brassy blonde color that needed to be changed.
Besides the color, Hopkins wasn’t sold on the style. It was out-of-date and didn’t do much for her appearance. As Hopkins was looking through her locks, he also noticed that her hair was thin on one side. He said her hair stopped growing. So, he had to think of a style that would give her more body and style.
Kari was more than excited when her friend/stylist told her that she was going to be “updated”. Kari was recently divorced and was looking forward to the change that would make her feel better all around.
It seems that Hopkins was no stranger to helping Kari with her hair and makeup. He not only did her hair but also her makeup for her senior class picture.
He even did the same thing for several of her other dates!
Kari was ready for a more modern style that she could handle at home.
Now it was time for the big reveal! Hopkins and his team got to work to create a style that took years off Kari’s look and really made her shine.
He colored her hair so it was natural blonde and cut it shorter. By adding fresh layers, he created a softer look that took years off Kari’s appearance.
Combine that with makeup that made her look like a model and you have a picture-perfect makeover.
When you look at Kari’s before picture and compare it with her after photo, it’s hard to believe that it’s the same person. When Kari saw herself in the mirror for the first time after her makeover, she couldn’t even believe it was her either! She absolutely loved her new look!
Her special day didn’t end there. When Hopkins was done, he and Kari danced just like they did years ago.
