It’s perfect for your dinner proteins and a filling side for your breakfast plates.

The only ingredients you’ll need?

First, you will need heavy cream.

Prepare a cup to a cup and half of your favorite heavy cream brand as this will make a perfect substitute for your butter, milk, and shortening.

The other is flour.

You’ll need two cups of sifted self-rising flour.

You have different options for this one but this recipe uses the unbleached version.

Remember that this recipe needs sifted flour. You’d be surprised to see the stark difference between sifted and normally scooped flour.

Since scooped flour is much more packed and dense, it can actually contain around 20% more flour. This can affect the texture of your final product.

Next, incorporate your ingredients carefully.

Make a well in the middle of the bowl of flour. Slowly pour in your heavy cream and fold the flour in.

You don’t need to mix vigorously as it can take away the air from your flour.

You don’t want your dough to be dry and you don’t want it too runny either.

If you have experience in making biscuits, you want your dough to have a similar consistency. You can also see the screenshot provided.

Shape your biscuits however you want.

You can either scoop it out as is with a spoon or you can roll them out. Dust your surface with flour so your dough won’t stick.

Press your dough until you get your desired thickness. Remember not to overmix your dough because it can result in tougher biscuits.

Using a cookie cutter, divide your dough into portions.

Preheat your oven to 450°F.

Baking time will take around 10 to 12 minutes. You can use this time to take a quick break or prepare other dishes.

Just add in a few more finishing touches before serving them.
