If you are a faint-hearted type of person, then we highly advise that you skip watching this video. But, if you want to see something awesome, then you’re in the right place!
One of the first achievements that we will have while growing up is being able to ride a bike without the training wheels. It’s one of the greatest feelings ever and everyone can definitely relate to this, wouldn’t you agree?

Did you know the first means of transport that used only two wheels in tandem was called the “dandy horse” (they also called it Draisienne or Laufmaschine)? It was invented by the German Baron Karl von Drais and he introduced it to the public in Mannheim in 1817 and in Paris in 1818.
It’s regarded as the very first bicycle. However, it did not have pedals- instead, its rider sat astride a wooden frame supported by two in-line wheels and pushed the vehicle along with his or her feet while steering the front wheel.
Needless to say, they’ve come an awfully long way since then.

Enough with history, check this jaw-dropping video!
Over a year ago, during the Unibike Expo 2019 in Istanbul at the Bicycle and Equipment Fair, one woman wowed everyone watching with her dangerous yet amazing bike stunts.
Of course, the video went viral. As of this writing, it has already amassed over 19 million views, with hundreds of thousands of likes, and tens of thousands of comments.
Have you heard of “Artistic cycling?”

It is a form of competitive indoor cycling where athletes perform tricks (called exercises) for points on specialized, fixed-gear bikes in a format similar to ballet or gymnastics.
“The sport is a combination of cycling, gymnastics, dance and acrobatics. It is often referred as ‘Freestyle Cycling’ or ‘Cycling Ballet’ due to refined, elegance and creativity displayed by performers. In the competition, professional athletes perform before a panel of judges in five-minute rounds that includes 30 figures. (Stunts are called ‘figures’ in UCI competition). Each figure delivered by an athlete is evaluated on various parameters such as level of difficulty, balance, grace, form, strength, style and flawlessness.”
Awesome, from start to finish.

The woman in the video is Viola Brand and she’s referred to as a celebrity cyclist.
She is a professional freestyle cyclist born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany. She started artistic cycling when she was just 6 years old. She is a 2-time Vice-World Champion with lots of other achievements under her name.

With the complexities of the sport, one must have to be strong in both the upper and lower body, possess incredible balance and body coordination, and a boatload of bravery and confidence.
Viola Brand has it all, and she’s here to show us what a true champion really looks like.
Get ready because this is not your ordinary bike stunt exhibition show.

First, she rides her bike like usual, then goes for a couple of rounds before the excited crowd.

She then begins by lifting her feet to the side while her hands hold the bike’s handle and the seat, all the while the bike is running. And yes, that’s just the start!

Next, she lifts the front wheel, turning the then bicycle into a unicycle, but that’s not the end, she backpedals continuously to make her ride go spinning. You’ll be surprised because she’s doing it all with her hands off of the bike. Just wow!

She really is a world champion!

Just imagine how hard it is to execute those stunts while having a limited space to work. The crowd keeps on showering her with applause whenever she does a stunt, they’re so lucky to be in attendance that day.

At one point in her routine, Viola goes in for the craziest bicycle stunt that I have seen in my life!

A handstand on a running bike! How is that even possible? There’s no question why she has won multiple European Championships over the years of being a professional cyclist.
We will not spoil the entirety of her awesome performance.
