It’s called tornado eggs. Now, don’t worry if you aren’t that skilled in the kitchen. The recipe doesn’t involve hard-to-find ingredients.

The secret to making the perfect tornado eggs is the technique.

Unlike your usual omelet, the viral egg recipe is cooked using the swirling technique. You’ll need chopsticks, too!

Here are the steps:

1. Get your nonstick pan.

If you can find a smaller pan, the better. This will make it easier for you to get the outermost part of the egg circle once you get to the swirling part.

2. Prepare the eggs.

Beat the eggs as usual. Season according to your taste.

3. Get the oil hot.

Pour a tablespoon of oil into your pan. Wait until it gets very hot before you put your eggs.

4. Pour the beaten eggs into your pan.

If your oil is hot enough, the beaten eggs should set right away, particularly the edges. Soon after that, the center should start to bubble.

5. Get your chopsticks ready.

Drag your chopsticks to the center of your pan. Rotate them with one hand and use the other hand to rotate the skillet. Don’t let the chopsticks get too close to each other.

As much as possible, keep them an inch apart. Continue swirling until possible.

6. Once the eggs stop swirling, slide the omelet out of your pan

Don’t worry about the eggs looking runny. With the heat, they’ll still continue to cook.

The recipe wouldn’t be complete without rice.

In fact, tornado eggs are actually a part of a dish from Korea called tornado omurice. The tornado egg is placed over a mound of rice and served with a sauce.

The tornado omelet recipe video has been viewed nearly 16 million times.

A lot of the people who’ve watched it found themselves trying out the recipe and the stories are hilarious.

One viewer shared:

Another one said:

“So i tried to make a tornado omelette, came out looking more like a hurricane.”

Some were more successful than others. One particular viewer commented:

“I’m proud to announce I mastered this on my third try :)”

If you have successfully made your own tornado omurice, you can refrigerate the leftovers for about 3 to 4 days if placed in an air-tight container. It’s good to keep the sauce separate to make sure it doesn’t get absorbed by the rice during storage.

The recipe isn’t that hard to do. However, learning how to cook it requires patience and timing.
