After a long and tiring day, there is nothing you would want more than a delicious meal. However, not everyone can afford to cook a yummy dish after a busy day. People often resort to something quick and easy like popping a microwaveable ready-to-eat meal.
Thankfully, now, there is an easy way to have a mouthwatering dish without even getting into that tedious task of cooking in your steaming hot kitchen.
And it’s all thanks to slow cookers!
The internet is now filled with tons of slow cooker recipes, and these homemade dishes can satisfy even your pickiest eaters. In this video, one of these recipes is shared by mom and social media star, Kayli Butler. She also said that it’s a recipe shared with her by her best friend.
“It’s really easy, really quick, and fast!”
That’s how Kayi described this recipe. It’s the type of homemade dish that best suits busy parents or anyone who doesn’t have all the precious time in the world.
To make this “Quick and Easy Teriyaki Chicken”, you just need to have the following ingredients:
- 5 to 6 pieces of frozen chicken breasts (The number of chicken breasts depends if you want some leftovers the next day.)
- Half (1/2) cup brown sugar
- Half (1/2) cup of soy sauce
- Carrots (baby)
- Broccoli (chopped)
- Additional vegetables (optional)
A Sweet & Savory tip: When it comes to ingredients (especially the perishable ones) always pick the freshest of the fresh.
Kayli, of YouTube channel HeyKayli, is a mother who shares her passion and incomparable love for her family. Her channel has quite an audience with 636K subscribers. Her videos mostly show their activities as a family.
An important thing to remember is since it’s a slow cooker recipe, it will need “time” to cook. This recipe, in particular, requires about seven hours.
The procedure?
Step number 1: Put the chicken breasts inside the slow cooker (aka crockpot).
Step number 2: Add the 1/2 cup of brown sugar and the 1/2 cup of soy sauce (any brand of soy sauce will do just like what Kayli said.)
Step number 3: Put the slow cooker’s lid on and set it to “high.” Then just let it cook for five (5) hours.
Step number 4: After 5 hours, you may then add the baby carrots to the slow cooker. Talking about the number of carrots, she said that it depends on your preference.
“Just add as many carrots as you like. If you don’t like carrots don’t add as many. Or, you don’t have to add any if you don’t want to!”
Put the lid cover back and let it cook for another hour.
Step number 5: When that added hour is up, you may then throw in some chopped broccoli to the slow cooker. If you love vegetables, you may add in other types too. Cauliflower, onions, or peppers would also make great additions.
It’s still up to your preference when it comes to the variety of vegetables. You can add the vegetables that you and your family like.
Cook for another hour and make sure to put the lid back on.
You and your family can now enjoy this sumptuous teriyaki chicken! You can eat it plain, and as suggested by Kayli, enjoy it with rice, noodles, or on top of a salad.
It is indeed an easy dish to make. It’s a level-up from the typical quick meals that you make at home(probably)!
The people who have actually tried doing it had something to say. This one wrote in the comment’s section:

Another happy commenter wrote:
