Here are the ingredients:

  • 1-2 lb chicken breasts, trimmed (2-3 chicken breasts depending on size)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups water

Jenn starts by laying the chicken on the bottom of the pot. Use a liner if you prefer.

All the other ingredients follow.

Jenn adds the chicken soup on top of the breasts then throws in the 2 packets of gravy mix.

Then she adds the garlic powder.

To that, she adds the poultry seasoning and black pepper.

Jenn explains that there’s no need for salt as the gravy mix takes care of that.

She adds in two cups of water, puts the lid on, and cooks the chicken on low for 6 to 8 hours. Easy.

What for sides?

Chicken is always better with proper vittles.

Jenn chose to make mashed potatoes and butternut squash as requested by her kids.

Peel and rinse

Jenn peels the potatoes before giving them a thorough rinsing saying that they were locally grown.

She chops them up into medium-sized pieces so they cook quickly.

Jenn gets the potatoes on the stove to boil before cutting up her squash in half.

She peels both sides and then cuts them in half again.

Scoop out the seeds then cut them up into the same sizes as those potatoes before putting them in a pot for a good boil.

Have a peeksy

Jenn lifts the lid to check on her chicken and they are so soft they’re literally falling apart.

Already, the chicken looks good enough to eat on its own but she sets the pot to warm before focusing her attention on the potatoes and squash.

Imagine the smell.
