Her YouTube account, Cooking Con Claudia, already has 748K subscribers, and her channel is still growing.

She features mouthwatering recipes that will make you want to recreate them.

She posted a video recipe called “Mexican Pizza” and claimed it’s way better than Taco Bell’s famous menu.

That’s a big claim, but after watching the recipe, we do think that her recipe is an amazing contender to the fast-food favorite.

So, how did Claudia make her Mexican Pizza?

Let’s start with the ingredients.

Basics:

  • Tortilla
  • Refried Beans
  • Mexican-style cheese

For the Taco Meat:

  • 2 lbs. of ground beef (Claudia used 97% lean and 3% fat)
  • 1 piece Roma tomato
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp. of cornstarch
  • 1/2 White onion
  • 1 tsp. of Cumin

  • 1 tsp. of Onion powder
  • 1 tsp. of Paprika
  • 1 tsp. of Chili powder
  • 1 tsp. of Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. of Oregano
  • 2 tsp. of garlic

For the Sauce:

  • 3/4 cups of Water
  • 15 oz. of Tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp. of Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. of Sugar

  • 1 tbsp. of Minced onion
  • 1 tsp. of Garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. of Garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. of onion powder
  • 2 tsp. of Chili powder

  • 1 tsp. of Paprika
  • 1 tsp. of Cayenne powder
  • 1/4 tsp. of Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. of Cumin

For the toppings:

  • Green onions
  • Chile serranos
  • Tomatoes
  • Black olives

*Toppings will depend on your taste.

Now that you have everything you need, itโ€™s time to make this gorgeous Mexican pizza.

Instructions:

Step 1. Sautรฉ tomatoes and onions. After a couple of minutes or when your onions are translucent, add the ground beef.

Step 2. Add all of your spices and salt. Mix well.

Step 3. Once your meat has cooked, some of the oil will come out. Add one tablespoon of cornstarch to thicken the meat and then mix. Set aside.

Step 4. To make the sauce, simply mix your tomato sauce, water, vinegar, and all the other spices listed. Mix it all and let it simmer.

Step 5. Once your sauce simmers, lower the heat and let it cook for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Set aside.

Step 6. Now itโ€™s time to prepare the tortillas. Using your comal or cast iron pan put oil and fry your tortillas.

Before frying, make sure that you poke your tortilla using a toothpick. This prevents bubbles from forming.

Fry each side until golden brown and set aside on a roasting sheet.

Step 7. While cooking all your tortillas, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Once done, place them in the oven for five minutes.

Step 8. Start preparing your pizza. Spread a thin layer of beans and then add in your meat.

Step 9. Get another tortilla and spread your homemade sauce and cheese. Lastly, add your choice of toppings.

Step 10. Put it back in the oven or until the cheese melts. Prepare warm and enjoy!
