Here’s what you will need:
- 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
- 4 ¼ cups of water
- 2 medium-sized eggs
- 2 onions chopped
- 4-5 cloves of garlic crushed
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
- Chili
- 1/2 cup of flour
- Cooking oil
For the yogurt dressing:
- 1/2 cup of plain yogurt (Greek yogurt to make it creamier)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice
Let’s cook!
Step 1. Wash and shred your cabbage. In the video, the uploader used a food processor to shred her cabbage. You can use a food processor or if you have lots of patience, do it manually.
Step 2. Put it in a pot and add the water. Cook it in low heat for about 10 minutes. Drain and set it aside.
Step 3. Chop two onions and set them aside. Heat your skillet, add oil and sauté your onions.
After a minute, press 4-5 cloves of garlic and cook until fragrant and translucent. Set them aside.
Step 4. In a large bowl, combine your cabbage, onion, and garlic. Then, add in your two eggs, thyme, salt, pepper, and chili powder.
Lastly, add your flour and mix well until well combined.
Step 5. Heat your skillet and add oil. Mold your cabbage patties and once the skillet is hot enough, fry your cabbage patties. Add oil when needed.
Step 6. Let’s prepare the sauce. Mix your yogurt, crushed garlic, salt, lemon juice, and coriander. Mix well and serve with the crispy cabbage patties.
You can eat this dish as it is, or you can use it as a substitute for meat patties for a burger.
