Who doesn’t love a good bbq?
There are all sorts of mouth-watering dishes that you can create in your very own backyard.
Some people like to stick with the basics: hamburgers, hotdogs, you know, that sort of thing. However, some people like to get creative with their bbq meals.
And what’s more, is that you can take an already established favorite and do all sorts of fun stuff with it.
Take this delicious spin on the hamburger for example.
The Stuffed Onion Bomb
It’s a stuffed-onion, bacon-wrapped, cheesy-topped, delicious burger. And you know what? It’s super easy, delicious, and fun to make.
You’re going to need:
- hamburger
- bacon
- a few onions
- some mushrooms
- a jalapeno
- cheese
- your favorite sauces and spices.
Step one:
To start, go ahead and carve out the center of your onions.
Of course, you will need to peel them first but once you’ve taken care of that, taking the center out should be pretty straightforward.
Once you’ve decided how many onions you are going to stuff and they’ve all been pitted, set them aside and begin to work on your hamburger filling.
Step two:
You’ll chop up the ground beef, the mushroom, and jalapeno. Toss them into the bowl with your meat.
Add whatever spices you enjoy and then mush it together until it is well mixed.
Step three:
Grab your hollow onions and begin to fill them with the hamburger mixture.
You can fill them nice and tight, right up to the top.
Step four:
Grab some bacon and wrap the outside of the onion with a couple of strips.
You can add some more spices here if you’d like.
Time to grill
Pop those suckers onto the grill and let them cook for about an hour at 350 degrees before giving them a check.
If they need more time, just shut the lid again and let them do their thing.
Top them off
When they are nearly done, go ahead and add some cheese to the tops of the onions and some of your favorite sauce.
Close the lid and let them cook for a while longer until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce has been cooked in.
When they are finished, pull them out and let them rest for about 10 minutes.
Once that time has passed, go ahead and cut into them.
Prepare to be amazed.
Your dinner guests will love this one because it looks just as amazing as it tastes.
It’s also a great option for anyone who is gluten intolerant. There’s no bun needed and you can still enjoy an amazing burger.
