If you want to treat your family with a flavorful dish but don’t have enough resources in the kitchen, then you might find this recipe helpful.
This simple yet yummy dish only requires 3 major ingredients – potatoes, carrots, and some ground meat.
It’s another recipe worth trying from the famous YouTube channel, The Perfect Refuge.
Behind the success of the channel is Rita Struglia from Italy. Her YouTube channel is filled with countless mouth-watering dishes and, of course, alongside each is its recipe. Talking about its fan base, she has 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube alone, that number already speaks for itself.
To achieve this succulent dish, you just need to have the following ingredients.
- 1 lb ground chicken or turkey meat
- 2 pieces of medium-sized potatoes
- 2 pieces of carrots
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- Rosemary
- Oregano
- 2 ripe tomatoes, cut and quartered
- 1/2 glass of water
- salt and oil
Note: The amount specified in each of the ingredients is just the suggested numbers as shown in the video. Feel free to adapt it to suit what you have on hand.
If you are all ready to do this, below are the easy steps in nailing this luscious dish.
Step number 1: Peel the potatoes and the carrots.
Step number 2: Using a grater/shredder, shred the potatoes using its largest shredding holes. Put it in a strainer after shredding. Make sure that there’s a large bowl underneath. Then set aside.
Step number 3: Using the same grater, shred the carrots using the smaller shredding holes. Put it in the strainer together with the shredded potatoes.
Step number 4: Add some salt and mix it well. Once, the potatoes and carrots are evenly mixed with each other, press them gently but thoroughly to remove excess juices from the vegetables.
Step number 5: Grab a mixing bowl or any large container, toss in the ground chicken meat (or any meat that you have ready), and the mixed carrots and potatoes.
Step number 6: Add a teaspoon of paprika, oregano, rosemary, and salt. Then mix until they become evenly and well combined with each other.
Step number 7: Grease a non-stick pan and put it over low heat. While waiting for the pan to warm up, get a palm-sized chunk of the mixture, and mold it to a patty-like shape.
Step number 8: Once the pan becomes warm enough, put the patties in and cook each side for 3 minutes. Then set aside.
Step number 9: Grab the tomatoes, slice in half, then quarter them.
Step number 10: Warm some oil in a pan. Put in 1 clove of garlic, add the sliced tomatoes, and some salt. Simmer them until it boils, then add 1/2 glass of water after.
Step number 11: Next, add the patties in and cook on simmer for about 15 minutes.
Step number 12: Enjoy it while it’s hot!
