Most people think that pizza dough is only useful for making pizza. However, the Scrumdiddlyumptious YouTube channel has proven that there are all sorts of additional uses for the common kitchen item that you’ve likely never thought of before. In its most basic form, pizza dough is just flour, yeast, water, oil, and salt. However, there is the potential for so much more.

For example, what would happen if you pressed pizza dough into an ice cube tray?

The talented chefs from Scrumdiddlyumptious aimed to find out. They created the coolest (and most delicious) stuffed pizza cubes that we have ever seen.

The ingredients for the pizza cubes are pretty easy to acquire:

All you need is flour, pizza dough, mozzarella, ham, fresh basil, and cherry tomatoes.

If you want to make the pizza dough from scratch, feel free. You can follow this recipe. Otherwise, it never hurts to buy it pre-made and ready to go straight from the grocery store.

The simple recipe instructions are as follows:

1. Coat your ice cube tray with flour.

You’ll want to get a healthy dusting of flour all over it. It will prevent your dough from sticking to the plastic tray in the next step of the recipe.

2. Press the dough into the tray.

Roll the pizza dough out and cut it into two equal halves. Lay the first piece of dough on top of the ice cube tray.

Then push it down into the individual sections of the tray.

3. Place the filling into each compartment.

First, plop in your mozzarella. The chef from Scrumdiddlyumptious used actual mozzarella balls. They fit perfectly into each section of the ice cube tray. They then placed ham on top of the mozzarella in the first row, fresh basil in the second row, and slices of cherry tomatoes in the last row.

4. Cover up the fillings with your second piece of dough.

Lay the dough overtop of everything and smooth it out with a rolling pin. You’ll want to create a seal in each section of the ice cube tray. Cut off the extra dough hanging over the edges when you’re done.

5. Freeze it all for two hours.

Place the ice cube tray filled with your little pizza pockets into the freezer and wait. After around two hours, you can take it out. Pop the solidified dough right onto your cutting board. Then chop the sections into individual pizza cubes with a sharp knife.

6. Bake the pizza cubes for 30 minutes at 360°F.

Lay all of the cubes onto a lightly greased sheet pan and place it into a convection oven. After 30 minutes, your stuffed pizza cubes should be ready to enjoy!

Not only do pizza cubes work great as appetizers for parties, but depending on what fillings you use, you can also serve them as the main course.

Remember, you can pretty much stuff them with anything that you would like!

The most important part is the mozzarella.
