Sometimes you want a sweet treat without all the artificial ingredients and garbage that store-bought food is sometimes made with.
Not only will you know exactly what’s going into this homemade oven-baked blueberry doughnut recipe, but it also provides a lighter alternative to fried doughnuts.
Here’s how to make them!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 caster or superfine white sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 250 grams (or a little over half a pound) of blueberries
- 1/3 cup vanilla sugar (you can buy this or learn how to make your own here)
Directions
First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. You’ll want to combine your dry ingredients into a bowl until they are mixed, then stir in your wet ingredients until it is well combined.
Next, fold your berries into your batter. Spray a doughnut pan lightly with cooking spray and spoon in your batter until each mold is filled about 2/3 full.
Bake your yummy doughnuts for 10 to 12 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Let them sit in their tray until they cool down a bit before you remove them. These delicious doughnuts will have a glorious moist consistency because of the yogurt. Sprinkle them with some vanilla sugar and enjoy!
