Mac & cheese is the ultimate comfort food. It’s creamy, cheesy, and crunchy – how can anything taste better than that?

Fortunately, we have a super easy way of making mac & cheese that requires just one pan.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • cooking spray

Preheat oven to 375 degree Fahrenheit.

First, in a skillet, combine 2 cups of milk with macaroni, salt, and pepper over medium-high heat. Bring it to a boil while stirring constantly to prevent sticking.

Once boiled, bring the heat down to medium-low and cook until the milk has reduced to a thick sauce. Make sure you keep stirring during this time.

Add the remaining cup of milk and cook until the milk has reduced by about half and the pasta is al dente.

Next, add the mozzarella and cheddar cheese to the skillet, and stir so the cheese melts evenly.

Sprinkle the panko bread crumbs on top of the macaroni evenly. Use a spatula or spoon to press the breadcrumbs down into the crevices. Then, spray the bread crumbs with cooking spray. Be sure to apply a thin layer evenly across the top of the skillet.

Place the skillet in the oven for 15 minutes.

Finally, take it out and enjoy!
