A dance routine is usually performed along with a particular genre of song, but there are some dances that produce their own kind of music.
Clogging is an American dance with roots in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina.
Just in case you haven’t heard of this dance yet, this is the best time to see a professional doing it.

“Clogging is a type of folk dance practiced in the United States, in which the dancer’s footwear is used percussively by striking the heel, the toe, or both against a floor or each other to create audible rhythms, usually to the downbeat with the heel keeping the rhythm.”
The tradition of clogging has been passed along from generation to generation, and thankfully it’s still being practiced up until today. It’s a significant part of the past that is still being preserved by people and organizations all around the globe.

The dances clogging creates are lively, upbeat, percussive, and extremely fun to watch.
You may find it similar to Irish stepdance and tap dancing. Clogging, though, has a unique flavor of its own. Unlike some step dances, clogging doesn’t require a “hard shoe” to produce a rhythm and sound.

To perfect the routine, one must have an impeccable sense of timing and of course, powerful legs and feet. Remember when they say, “it takes two to tango”, the same thing applies to clogging, by pair it goes, and by pair, they’re more amazing to watch.
Almost 2 years ago, Kentucky sisters Kaylee and Lauren Thomas showed everyone what a true clogging routine looks like.

These sisters have been in the clogging world and are a National Champion Duo! In this video of their performance, they will prove to us all why they’re called “champions”.
Who’s who?

That’s how identical they are on stage, they are like shadows of each other while dancing. They bounced it to “Hold My Hand” by Jess Glynne.
They are so good with each transition, the skills of the Thomas sisters are just what we expect from a national champion level of dancers.

As the song says, hold my hand, so they do.
These girls do not do the talking, their bodies do, and we literally mean it when we say that.

Their routine is well choreographed and though their moves are powerful, they still show grace with every flaunt of their champion-level jive.
It sure runs in the blood, Kaylee and Lauren here are nailing it.

Their performance is not all about clogging, they also incorporate it into usual dance choreography. They are so smooth and synchronized with each move, they are absolute as one with the music.

You may end up mistaking them as identical twins, and wouldn’t you agree if I’ll say that their relationship as sisters makes their performance more beautiful? It goes without saying that being siblings makes them more comfortable on stage.

Their amazing performance made some online viewers write comments like:
“it is unbelievable how perfect these girls are absolutely awesome”
While this one noticed clogging’s similarity to Irish dance:
“Here from holland. resembles Irish dance that once emigrated to America and turned into country tap dance. Both super good and difficult.”
