If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that my favorite food in the world is macaroni and cheese. Maybe it’s because my mom made it so much for me while I was growing up. Well as a mother myself, I have to say that I make macaroni and cheese for my children all the time. And if you know anything about mac & cheese, it’s that making it from scratch tastes infinitely better than making it from a box. So if you’re looking for a delicious mac & cheese recipe, check out this step-by-step tutorial courtesy of CookingWithYadi (you’ll need a slower cooker in order to use this recipe!):
First, toss half of your cooked macaroni into your slow cooker.
Then, start layering cheese cubes and butter on your macaroni. Once you’ve added enough cheese cubes and butter, add the rest of your macaroni. CookingWithYadi uses Monterey Jack, Velveeta, and colby cheese, but feel free to use whatever combination of cheese you prefer!
Next, place the lid on your slow cooker and cook for around two hours. Lift the cover occasionally to stir and add a small amount of milk.
You’ll know your mac & cheese is done when the cheese is fully melted. Make sure you serve it to your family when it’s still warm!
