You don’t need a lot of booze to make this a boozy-filled snack.

In terms of ingredients, all you need is a seedless watermelon, a bottle of Triple Sec, some sugar and salt, and 1 bottle of your favorite tequila.

The first step to a boozy snack.

The first thing you need to do is chop the watermelon up into wedges if that hasn’t been done already. Martha Stewart then recommends arranging the melon on a single layer on two baking dishes sized 9-by-13.

The second step to a boozy snack.

The next step to alcohol-infused fruit is to combine the Triple Sec, sugar, water, and tequila into a pan. Bring the concoction to a boil and stir until the sugar dissolves. This should turn everything into a syrup-like substance in about a minute.

Let the syrup cool briefly. Then pour your booze-filled syrup over the top of the melon wedges you arranged in step 1. Place everything in the fridge and let it sit for 45 minutes.

The longer you let the melon soak in the syrup the more alcohol it will absorb and the “boozier” your snack will be.

Arranging your snack.

After you’ve let your tequila-infused watermelon sit in the refrigerator for at least 45-minutes, you are ready to arrange a fun platter. Martha Stewart recommends squeezing lime over top of the watermelon wedges and seasoning with salt.

Once arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner, your booze-filled snack is ready to be served!

“I have brought this to several summer parties over the last few years. It is always a hit! I choose to keep it sweet and don’t use the salt. I recommend using a blanco tequila and not boiling for very long. You just want the sugar to dissolve and not evaporate the alcohol,” wrote one satisfied fruit eater.

“Very good! I add 1/4 cup fresh lime juice. I also take the rind off. Another way to serve is to soak for 1 hour and then put a popsicle stick on and freeze for 1 hour. Fun!
