“To me, skating should look effortless even when you’re doing the hardest of elements.” – Johnny Weir
Figure skating was the first winter sport registered in the Olympic Games, dating all the way back to the 1908 Olympics in London.
It is a winter sport wherein the best of the best in each country does their best in gliding majestically on an ice field. And it is as much a dance as it is a sport.
It’s probably one of the hardest winter sports ever because here, athletes need to be graceful, but they also need to be fierce and powerful at the same time. It’s hard to imagine, right?
That’s why only those with Olympic-caliber talents can enter the prestigious competition.
One of them is Jason Brown.

He’ a proud member of the team of the United States.
According to his personal website, he started skating when he was just three and a half years old. His mother, Marla Brown, enrolled both him and his sister, Jordan in Learn to Skate classes.

It took him a long time, literally a long time, to harness his skills and to be able to qualify for the Olympic stage. It only proves that perseverance and passion can take you to places where you aspire to be at.
A performance of his back in 2014 became viral!
Jason was one of the competitors in the Free Skate 2014 US Figure Skating Championships.
He was there not just to take part, but to take over! He was determined to bag the gold and to do it, he set the ice field on fire with his hard-won skills.
This proud 5’7″ figure skater from America proved everyone that he’s worth their time and attention.
His spectacular jumps, spins, and other daring maneuvers were beyond majestic.
His focus would not be toppled in the competition!
His many years of study, practice, and experience from many other competitions were put into a fantastic display.
He glided through the Irish-inspired song, ‘Riverdance‘ and the result was far above expectations.
It was obvious that most of the people there knew Jason and what he’s capable of doing.
The anticipation was there and when the rhythm of the music started to intensify, he went all-in to do the dance justice.
Accuracy, agility, strength, and intelligence, all together!
His pinpoint accuracy and agile routines were more than what was expected of him.
He didn’t fail the thousands of people in attendance that day, nor the millions of people watching all around the world.
It’s like he was telling us, “…watch me fly without wings.”
His double axel was smooth as silk, but our jaws dropped when he flawlessly pulled off a triple!
His routine was also filled with countless spins while his legs were on a 90-degree position. Seriously, what can this guy not do?
Turns out, Jason has been a winner through the years.
