This question goes to all the women out there- what would you do if someone groped you?
Regardless if it’s intentional or not. Are you just going to let it slip away (probably because you’re scared)? Or are you going to teach the disrespectful culprit a good lesson?
Well, this woman will give us her answer and show us how it’s done.
Georgia waitress Emilia Holden was just doing her job, as usual, when suddenly, she got an unwanted surprise from behind.
In the surveillance video, Holden was wearing a black top and shorts and was at the counter. It seemed like she was preparing an order for a customer.
Just seconds after, a man in a red shirt and blue shorts walked towards her and did the unexpected.
When the man got behind Holden, he went for a good feel of the waitress’ butt.
It looked like the man didn’t care much about what he did as he kept on walking.
He was also unaware that a CCTV camera was rolling that night. Just when he thought that his undesirable act would go unpunished, Holden proved him otherwise.
She was not going to let it go like that, so she quickly retaliated to tell the man that groping was not on the menu.
Emilia immediately yanked his shirt and tossed him to the ground!
The 115-pound waitress just outmuscled the 175-pound man. Guess he never thought that he’d be manhandled that way- and so easily. It was obvious that he messed with the wrong woman that evening.
Holden didn’t stop there, in the video, you can also see her yelling (what you can imagine were some unkind words) at the man.
Holden told People that she yelled:
“You don’t touch me motherf****!”
When she spoke to a WTOC reporter, Holden said that her quick reaction to what happened was because she knew that what the man did was totally wrong.
Right there and then, she decided not to let it slip away that’s why she quickly taught the man a lesson. While the whole incident lasted only 12 seconds, Holden said it felt a lot longer than that.
She said:
“I was like, ‘no, you’re not going anywhere. You’re going to face the consequences.’”
Facing the consequences.
The man in the video is Ryan Cherwinski. Holden’s employer told the authorities that he saw the entire thing. He provided the police with the surveillance video showing the incident.
Soon, they arrested Cherwinski and charged him with sexual battery.
He was in police custody for two days and was eventually released. He told police that it was purely an accident and that he was only trying to get the waitress to move because she was blocking his way.
But, Holden wasn’t buying it. She told WTOC:
“I got what I wanted, they put him in handcuffs.”
The incident happened back in 2018, but the story has gone viral and is still getting attention. Emilia said that she sent her family the surveillance video. One person decided to post it and the rest was history.
Since the story has gone viral, she took it as an opportunity to help a cause that means a lot to her. She set up a GoFundMe to financially help the Islands Feral Cat Project.
Aside from that, she also said that she got offers for free martial arts classes. Because of the incident, it looks like she’s now determined to take self-defense more seriously.
All the guys out there should be extra careful and don’t dare mess with this young but feisty woman, or any other, for that matter.
