When we were still kids, our fathers tended to join or invite us to do activities that they thought we’d enjoy. Dads are known to be adventurous and outgoing, they sure mix almost everything with so much excitement and thrill.

We can’t deny that one of the best feelings when you are a kid, is when you get to bond with your father.

A little kid namely Brian Kelly surely knows how it feels.

He used to spend quality time with his dad whenever they would do some yard work and he definitely enjoyed those moments. Unfortunately, this kid had to go through tough times- he to be away from his father.

His dad was in the Air Force and he was deployed abroad – in Syria to be exact.

Brian was longing for his dad and had to cope with it at a young age.

We all know that it’s not easy to be away from our loved ones so it’s unthinkable how hard it is for a kid like him. Although his mom was there by his side during that time, it’s inevitable for him to miss his dad so much.

“When Dan [Brian’s dad] gets back, Brian’s going to cry and run to him with open arms,” Brian’s mom told Happiest.

Brian was trying to do his best to surmount his situation with the guidance of his mom and, surprisingly, his neighbors too.

He and his family were blessed with kind neighbors – the Cravens.

When he saw the family doing some work in the yard, he immediately went to them and asked them if he could join.

He wanted to do the activity that he and his dad used to do. Without hesitation, the head of the Cravens family, Dean, said yes. And that was the start of their adorable friendship!

Brian would regularly come over to Dean’s house so they could bond and do some “dad stuff”. He and his family welcomed the little kid into their house wholeheartedly. In fact, one of Dean’s daughters, Molly shared some of their photos on Twitter.

“This is our little neighbor. His dad is deployed in Syria and every day he comes to the door asking to work with our dad. Appreciate today,” she wrote

Aside from working in the yard, they would also play basketball and golf! They became really close.

Dean has three daughters, so he also enjoys spending time with the sweet kid, Brian. He’s not only making him happy but what he was doing was also a big help to the boy’s parents- especially his dad.

Dean and Brian’s story was able to reach thousands of people. Most of them were touched and commended Dean for taking the time to play and bond with Brian.

“Bless y’all for being so kind while his Daddy is serving our country. This made me tear up,” one commenter said.

Some commenters also wished that Brian would see his dad again.

“Read this. Made me cry. So nice of your dad to do this for this little guy. Hope his dad gets home soon & give him a big hug.”

It’s heartwarming how Dean had helped Brian to somehow relieve the pain of being far from his dad. His situation would never be easy but with the help of his amazing neighbors, he can surely make it through.
