According to Wikipedia,

“Baby Shark” is a children’s song featuring a family of sharks. Popular as a campfire song, it has taken off since 2016, when Pinkfong, a South Korean education company, turned it into a viral video which spread through social media, online video, and radio.”

“Baby Shark” originated from a campfire song or chant. Some sources have mentioned traditional myths as a basis, others camping origins in the 20th century,[1] and some see it as possibly developed by camp counselors inspired by the movie Jaws. It became a campfire song where each member of a family of sharks is introduced with different hand motions. Different versions of the song have the sharks hunting fish, eating a sailor, or killing people, who then go to heaven.”

Here is a 2007 version of the song, also called as the Alemuel version

This dance version of “Baby Shark” is a YouTube video posted by a channel of a German woman named Alexandra Müller, also known as “alemuel”. The video was entitled “Kleiner Hai” (German for Little Shark).

Here’s another version called “Johnny Only”

It was shared as an educational video by a YouTube channel named TheLearningStation – Kids Songs and Nursery Rhymes back in the year 2011.

Then came the Pinkfong’s version featuring the shark family.

Pretty soon, the “Baby Shark” dance challenge was born and spread like a wildfire!

Even to the football stadiums…

It also appeared on the 6:30 mark of the year-ender video rewind of YouTube itself.

The dance craze became a global trend and has influenced both celebrities and ordinary citizens.

Sophie Turner & Josh Groban even sang it!

It’s considered the most popular rendition of the song ever.

The “Baby Shark” (Trap Remix) also became a hit and conquered the land.

It also conquered the seas.
