Some people consider cooking steak an art. You need skill and precision to make the perfect steak each time.
The herbs, butter, and gravy that go along with your steak are also as important. Have you ever tasted a steak cooked in the air fryer?
Many will think that this isn’t possible, but check out this tutorial from Rose Oatley that got over 2M views. After checking this out, you might feel excited to make steak using your air fryer.
Let’s start off with the ingredients that you will need:
Ribeye Steaks
Extra virgin olive oil
A1 Sauce (Thick & Hearty or Original)
Montreal Steak Seasoning
Butter
Fresh Parsley
Ingredients for your gravy (optional)
– 4 Tbsp. of softened butter
– 1 Tsp. of Minced Garlic
– 1 Tsp. of Thyme
– 1 Tsp. of Rosemary
– 1 Tbsp. of Fresh Parsley
You will also need:
– Silicone brush
– Cutting board
– Air fryer
The first thing to do is to get your steak and leave it at room temperature for 20 minutes.
We don’t want to work on frozen steaks.
Before preparing your steak, pre-heat your air fryer to 400°F for 6 minutes.
Get your steak and put it on your baking sheet. Add extra virgin olive oil and brush it all over, including the sides.
Add salt and pepper on both sides, and set them aside.
On a plate, add your A1 sauce. You can choose the Thick & Hearty version, or the original one, depending on your taste.
Add the Montreal seasoning.
Put your steak, rub it all over the sauce, flip it and do the same on the other side.
You can add more seasoning depending on your preference.
Cover the steak with your aromatic seasoning, including the sides.
Get your air fryer basket and place it on your cutting board.
Spray the bottom of the basket with olive oil.
Add two steaks and set the time for 8 minutes and cook at 400°F on one side.
When the time is up, check your steak, flip them over and continue cooking for another 7 minutes at 400°F.
This recipe is for well-done to medium-well steaks.
While waiting, chop some parsley or cook your gravy.
Once done, let your steak rest for about 5 minutes. Don’t cut it yet.
While you wait for the steak to cool down, add your butter.
Serve and enjoy!
Rose made two versions. The second batch is more of a medium rare to medium cut.
To do this, cook one side at 400°F for 8 minutes and 5 minutes on the other side.
Tips to remember:
- It’s important to pre-heat your air fryer so that it will give your steak that beautiful sear.
- Don’t cook cold steak. This will cause your steak to lose all those delicious juices.
- Allowing your steak to rest will lock in more flavor and juices.
- The thickness of your steak and the type of air fryer you will use can make a difference. You can adjust your time and see what works for you.
